Kids Clothes, Done Simple

Fashion Basics

As a mom I find it so overwhelming shopping for my kids clothes! I have both a son and a daughter and it seems like every two seconds there is some fun new brand that I want to try popping up on Instagram or Facebook! There’s just too much to choose from! I suppose that’s a good problem to have. While most of my mommy friends and I seem to all still shop at out staple big box brand companies, I do see many moms supporting up and coming brands especially those created by parents for parents.

Must Have Beauty Finds!

Beauty Must Have

I’m a bit obsessed, well…a lot obsessed with all things beauty! My skin care regimen is ever-changing as I try different products that complement one another! I get so excited about these products that I tell anyone and everyone that will listen so naturally I have to share these awesome beauty finds with my readers!

I suffer from dehydrated, dry, flaky skin so I’m usually in search of moisture rich products that pack a punch and can brighten and smooth my face. One of my absolute favorite go to products is the Beauty Elixir by Caudalie

Planning a Baby Sprinkle

IMG_1280.PNG

Having a second child, especially close in age comes with its own array of questions and concerns. One of which is whether or not to have another baby shower. You want to be able to share this joyous moment with friends and family but you also don’t want to run the risk factor of being looked at as greedy or you genuinely don’t need as much as you did the first time around. Baby “sprinkles” have become a great way of welcoming a new addition to the family without being over the top. Instead of the mother being “showered” with gifts she’s “sprinkled” with usually the necessities for the new baby.

The Ridiculous List of Things I Still Haven’t Done in Preparation for Baby # 2

Third Trimester

I’m due in 7 days.

Perhaps subconsciously I’m expecting to have to be induced again like the first go round. Maybe I’m just continuing the pattern of being ridiculously delayed with this pregnancy, like confirming it at 16 weeks! Maybe I’m just completely delusional and haven’t really realized that I’m carrying a bowling ball underneath my shirt.

I mean after all I’m still traveling to and from work on the NYC subway well aware that I could flood the entire seat with my gush of goo water and end up that “sick passenger” everyone hates during their commute. I stopped at least a week before my due date the first time. Maybe because I’m too busy trying to wean my 21 month old off his pacifier and get him to stay asleep in his own bed oh and introduce the potty that I just haven’t given any thought to the fact that I’m due in 7 days.

Days Off: Before and After Motherhood

Mom Days Off

I often fondly reminisce about what my days off used to be like. I use past tense because after becoming a mom I don’t actually get a “day off”, it doesn’t exist. If I knew then what I know now I probably would’ve appreciated them more, and done more with my free time. But of course that’s a saying for a reason, because you never could’ve known then what you know now and so I’m just left with the memories of days that’s seem so long gone I’m not even sure if I’m actually remembering them or just daydreaming.

Are You There Vagina? It’s Me…

pregnancy symptoms down there

(Warning: Semi graphic, possibly hilarious, slightly embarrassing, definitely sad content)

Are you there vagina? It’s me…It wasn’t that long ago that I vowed I would never put you under this stress again. I was so grateful that you had been able to get back to normal even though it took an entire year for that to happen. But now look what I’ve done, I’ve again subjected you to the horrors we both experienced for the first time just over a year and a half ago. I know you hate me, can you ever forgive me?

Tick Tock: A Discussion about Marriage and Motherhood

IMG_0933.JPG

After reading former Bad Girl Tanisha Thomas’ Instagram post I couldn’t help but think about how many of my close friends could relate.

In our early 30s it seems like everyone has been hit with the baby bug. That time you hear about on TV when a woman’s biological clock starts ticking and she’s suddenly inundated with maternal feelings and begins to long for a family. In this day and age despite what Teen Mom may be showing these past few weeks with their alums pregnant for a second time, women have been having children later in life usually after establishing their careers.
